Data Retention & Deletion Schedule

This schedule describes how long different categories of data are retained by Talos Automata, Inc. ("Spec") and when they are deleted. Read together with the Privacy Policy and DPA.

Principles

  • Local‑first Personal user content from connected accounts remains on-device.
  • Data minimization We keep only what we need, for as long as needed, then delete.
  • Transparency Non-essential telemetry is opt-in, and retention periods are disclosed.

Categories and Retention

1) Personal user content (from connected accounts)

Storage: On-device only. Retention: Until you delete or revoke permissions. Deletion: You control deletion on your device; uninstalling Spec removes local caches.

2) Account and profile metadata (Firebase Authentication)

Storage: Google Firebase Authentication. Retention: While account is active and up to 90 days after deletion. Deletion: Triggered within 30 days upon verified request; backups per provider policy.

3) Support communications

Storage: Email/support tools. Retention: 2 years from last interaction. Deletion: On request where permissible.

4) Telemetry and diagnostics (opt‑in)

Storage: Secure analytics/telemetry store. Retention: 12 months rolling; aggregated statistics may be retained longer without identifiers. Deletion: Opt-out stops new collection; existing data ages out.

5) LLM request payloads (transmitted to providers)

Storage: Transmitted to LLM providers; not stored by Spec off device. Retention: Providers may retain limited operational logs (often up to 30 days) for abuse/fraud monitoring and reliability. Deletion: Per provider policies; no training on API data.

6) Security logs (access/auth events)

Storage: Secure log store (minimal). Retention: 12 months rolling. Deletion: Logs age out.

7) Billing and transaction records (if applicable)

Storage: Payment processor. Retention: 7 years or as required by law. Deletion: Per legal/processor policies.

Manage integrations, clear caches, and control telemetry in Spec Settings. Submit data subject requests to support@withspec.com.
